They’ve spoken of making a film on their own love story, but perhaps this was a twist in the plot at least one of them had not anticipated. Former Assistant Advocate General of Haryana Anuradha Bali, who is now known as Fiza after her marriage to former Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan — who became Chand Mohammad — alleged on Wednesday that her husband had been kidnapped. The tearful Fiza told police and mediapersons that she suspected Chand’s younger brother, Haryana Janhit Congress (Bhajan Lal) president Kuldeep Bishnoi, was behind the abduction.

A police team led by SSP Jatinder Singh Aulakh rushed to the couple’s house in Chandigarh’s S.A.S. Nagar around 3.30 after getting a message from the control room. They soon got in touch with Chand, who denied having been kidnapped. “I went by myself…I am not a child who will disappear suddenly,” he told reporters on the phone. He however refused to say where he was, or return home. She later said he had spoken to her and told her he was near Delhi.

Chand was sacked from the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government after he disappeared for over a month following his runaway second marriage to Fiza.
