Apart from the duo, 21 candidates are also contesting for the 11 posts of the management committee. The lease issue is once again the main poll issue.
A final decision on the issue, regarding the renewal of lease of around 132 acres Chandigarh Golf Club (CGC) land, is pending in the Punjab and Haryana high court after the matter could not be solved amicably between the Club and Chandigarh administration, in spite of the appointment of a mediator by the court.
Around 1,800 regular members of t he cl ub have t he vot i ng rights, but generally around 50% voting takes place.
In the outgoing management committee, Alamgir Singh Grewal (Gar ry), Amarinder Singh Aulakh (Gags) and Jyoti Singh, are contesting again.
