Govt wheat worth Rs 5 crore found missing; three employees booked

The scam came to the fore during raids conducted by food and supply department’s deputy director NK Mittal on Wednesday.

On the complaint of district food and supplies controller Ghanshyam Dass, the police booked inspectors Jaswant Jakhar and Vipin Kumar and subinspector Mahendar Singh under sections 409 (criminal breach of trust) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy). So far, about 40,000 wheat bags have been found missing from the godowns.
