An official on Thursday said to reduce telephone bills, the state government had adopted the BSNL scheme three years ago. "But we observed that only few departments, boards, and corporations adopted the scheme.

Now, we feel the desired response to the scheme was not obtained," the official said.

After much deliberation, BSNL agreed to simplify the scheme, and now the users adopting the scheme would only have to register themselves, he added.
