Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday has announced dates for much awaited assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh. It will be held in one phase.

Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday has announced dates for much awaited assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh. It will be held in single phase.

The polling will be held on November 4, 2012 and counting of votes will be done on December 20, 2012.

Every candidate will need a separate bank account for elections and candidate's expenditure will be monitored.

EC also announced dates for Gujarat polls which will be held in two phases.

The Commission had held consultations with the home ministry for deployment of central security forces during the elections and with revenue officials for checking the misuse of money power.

Schedule for Himachal Pradesh:

Issue of notification - Oct 10
Last date for filing nominations - Oct 17
Scrutiny - Oct 18
Last date for withdrawals - Oct 20
Polling - Nov 4
Counting of votes - Dec 20
