Landmine defused near Indo-Pak International Border in Jammu

A landmine detected along Indo-Pak International Border was defused while Pakistan again violated ceasefire in two separate incidents across Jammu region, official sources here said.

A landmine detected along Indo-Pak International Border was defused while Pakistan again violated ceasefire in two separate incidents across Jammu region, official sources here said.

"A farmer noticed a suspicious object in his fields on Monday while grazing his cattle in village Suajana of Samba district,"sources here on Tuesday said.

He informed the police following which a Bomb Disposal Squad immediately rushed to the spot.
"It was a landmine and was defused on the spot," they added.

While Pakistan, in yet another ceasefire violation incident, fired small arms on Indian posts last night in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district.

"The firing lasted for about half an hour while Army did not retaliate," they said and added no incident of any injury or damage to property was reported.
