A day after the mysterious death of the 26-year-old lecturer on the ground floor of her apartment building in Sector 49, the police have so far ruled out any foul play in the case.
The post-mortem report suggested that Richa Sharma died of head injury. She died due to cerebral damage due to blunt trauma/ surface impact over the head. The chemical had been sent for examination to rule out any poisoning, the report added.
After the post-mortem which was being conducted at GMCH-32, the body was handed over to her family.
DSP (crime) Satbir Singh said, “Investigations so far reveal that the victim had come to the ground floor and got dizzy. She apparently fell on the hard surface and hit her head. Due to profuse bleeding and lying unnoticed for some time she succumbed to her injuries.”
The DSP added as of now there were no indications of foul play or even hit and run as the victim did not have external injuries. The viscera analysis report was awaited to rule out poisoning.
Meanwhile, Ruchi was cremated by her family on Saturday. The shocked parents said, “We could never imagine that she will go so early.”
Ruchi was a commerce lecturer at Goswami Ganesh Dutta SD College in Sector 32. She was staying with her parents on the third floor of Pink Rose Society in Sector 49. Her body was noticed by a passerby around 10 am on Friday, with several blood stains on her clothes.
