Asserting that there is no need for Anna Hazare to go on strike again for passage of the bill the Union Minister said, "Government is keen that Lokpal Bill should be passed as soon as possible and should be brought before the people." Dr Abdullah told reporters at the sidelines of a poetry book release function of Socialist Democratic Party leader Darkshana Andrabi.

"I am hopeful that in the next session which is starting from April 24 the bill would be given nod by the government," he added and said, "another important aspect is that the Lok Ayuktas should be left to states only - it would not be done by the centre."

"Lokyaukta is a federal structure and it should be done by the states. As far as the passage of the bill is concerned all the parties would sit and decide it," he added.

Meanwhile on a question related to the multi-crore scam in the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) Dr Abdullah who is also the president of the association said the matter is being enquired.
