The local police on Tuesday booked a Mumbai-based businessman for misbehaving with the mother of his daughter-in-law at District Courts Complex, Sector 43, here
The incident took place on September 14 when Yashwant Jain, 51, and the victim had come to the court for attending a hearing, which was related to a matrimonial dispute and custody of the children.
The woman alleged that Jain passed loose comments and also misbehaved with her. The police took a legal opinion after which a case was registered.
Sources in the police said children were staying abroad and the divorce suit was pending in a local court.
Police said the woman alleged that she had entered the meeting room for collecting a legal paper when Jain misbehaved and touched her in an objectionable manner.
The businessman is yet to be arrested. A case under sections 354 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intend to outrage her modesty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC has been registered at the Sector 36 police station.
