The victim's husband, Jaibharat, was caught on the suspicion raised by Rohtak senior superintendent of police (SSP) Vivek Sharma, who indicated the involvement of persons, known to the victim. The other arrested person was Rahul, Jaibharat's servant.
Police said Jaibharat, the husband of Suman, 26, admitted to have hatched a conspiracy with Rahul and one Yashrao by paying them Rs 30,000 each to kill his wife so that he can marry his sister-in-law.
As per the plan, Jaibharat convinced his wife to visit her in-laws place at Chang village of the district.
On her way to Chang with her husband, Rahul and Yashrao, riding a motorcycle, killed Suman near Sisar. They dragged the body for 5km before throwing it in the fields. Police said Jaibharat told them that he wanted to kill his wife earlier, but did not get the opportunity until September 8.
