Manpreet challenges Rajan's aid report

Former Punjab finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal has challenged the report of former chief economic adviser of India and now Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan about aid allocation to the states, and asked the Punjab government to do the same.

Former Punjab finance minister Manpreet Singh Badal has challenged the report of former chief economic adviser of India and now Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan about aid allocation to the states, and asked the Punjab government to do the same.

"The report puts Punjab in the top category of 'relatively developed' states and recommends unfair deduction of the central aid. Punjab is basking in the false glory of being a developed state, little realising that the report is statistical hogwash," Manpreet said here on Friday.
