MC polls: Cong postpones screening panel meetings
Meetings of Congress screening committees for municipal corporation elections in Ludhiana, Amritsar and Jalandhar have been postponed to May 10. However, the Patiala committee meeting will be held as scheduled on May 9.

Meetings of Congress screening committees for municipal corporation elections in Ludhiana, Amritsar and Jalandhar have been postponed to May 10. However, the Patiala committee meeting will be held as scheduled on May 9.
Stating this here on Sunday, Punjab Congress vice-president Laal Singh said that the meetings had been postponed since Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has called a meeting of senior party leaders from Punjab in New Delhi on May 7.
The Congress leader said that the date for submitting of applications by the candidates for party nominations to the MCs of Ludhiana, Amritsar and Jalandhar had also been extended to May 10 while for Patiala it would be May 9.
