To educate residents, the sanitation wing of the civic body organised an awareness campaign-cum-cleanliness drive in the Ram Darbar colony.

The campaign was accompanied by regular sanitation work carried out by 20 additional safaikaramcharis in small groups under the close supervision of the senior inspectorate staff. Tractor-trolleys and cyclerickshaw carts were deployed for removing roadside garbage.

Lime dust was sprinkled at all vulnerable places to avoid nuisance created by flies; the pest control wing also sprayed the area with insecticides. A rally was carried out by the safaikaramcharis, conveying that dry waste should be seperated from the rest of the garbage.
