The party has been accused the central and state governments of failing to crackdown on the drug racket in the state.

Following a meet with party delegates from across the district, MCPI (U) secretary state committee Pawan Kumar Kaushal accused the ruling SAD-BJP alliance of not having the will to fight the bludgeoning problem due to links, whether direct or indirect, to the drug problem in the state.

The party also blamed the central government's "aggressive pro-corporate policies" for the exploitation of the poor in the country.

District secretary Lakhwinder Singh Bowani tabled a report of the party's district unit's activities at the meet. Delegates also discussed the party's weaknesses and how these can be overcome.
