Molestation by teacher: Accused borrowed, not extorted, money from victim: Witness
Accused dance teacher Akash alias Eric, who is facing charges of molestation and extortion of money from his 17-year-old student, had befriended the victim and borrowed the money as loan.
This was stated by Depesh Sekri, in whose presence Akash had admitted his guilt and given an apology letter to the father of the victim.
Sekri during his cross-examination on Tuesday before the additional district and sessions judge Anshu Shukla said that Akash had developed a friendly relationship with the victim and had borrowed the money from her.
As per the allegations, the victim, a student of a leading school in Chandigarh, used to learn dance at Akash’s academy in Sector 44. The victim claimed that Akash had some objectionable pictures of her and he had been extorting money from her since 2013 on the pretext of circulating them.
Akash even made physical contact, unwelcome advances and explicit sexual overtures, the victim had added. The alleged accused was arrested on January 9. The case would now come up for hearing on June 1.
