Muncipal council elections: Punjab declares holiday on February 25

The Punjab government on Monday declared holiday on Wednesday in all government offices, Boards , corporations and education institutions located in 123 Municipal Council areas and Ward No 2 of Barwala Nagar Panchayat going for Municipal Elections on that date. This holiday has been declared under Negotiable Instrument Act 1881.

An official spokesman on Monday said that any government servant who was voter of above mentioned Municipal councils and was performing duty outside that area and seeks leave for excising his right of franchise, the concerned authorities after verifying documents can grant him special leave.
