The state BJP spokesman and general secretary K James Vizo said the remark was 'derogatory and insulting not only to the people of Nagaland and Mizoram but also to the entire northeastern region'.

The Nagaland BJP demanded an apology for making such an 'insulting remark' and having a 'discriminatory attitude' towards the northeasterners.
