Nepalese worker found hanging from tree

A 40-year-old man was found hanging from a tree at Jujhar Nagar near Dara Studio, Phase 6, here on Saturday. As the body was recovered in the area that falls on the border of Chandigarh and SAS Nagar, SHO of Sector 39, 56 and Phase 1 could not decide on jurisdiction, following which sarpanches and even a patwari was called to resolve the issue.

As the body was recovered in the area that falls on the border of Chandigarh and SAS Nagar, SHO of Sector 39, 56 and Phase 1 could not decide on jurisdiction, following which sarpanches and even a patwari was called to resolve the issue.

The victim has been identified as Nip Bahadur, a resident of Nepal.

According to the police, a passerby called them up after seeing the body hanging from a tree.

The police said the victim worked in a dhaba located in Phase 6 for the past fortnight.

The dhaba owner said the victim had slept in the dhaba after having dinner and in the morning his body was found hanging.

The police said a family photograph of the victim was also recovered from near his body. No suicide note was recovered from the spot and further investigations were on.

Thought a family friend of the victim, Deepak, identified the body, the post-mortem examination would be done on Sunday as the police were waiting for the victim's family to arrive.
