NSO members continue protest against alleged irregularities in admissions

The members of National Students Organisation (NSO) continued with their protest on Friday over the alleged discrepancies in the admission process conducted by Joint Admission Committee (JAC) for the admission to various engineering colleges including University Institute of Technology (UIET), Panjab University, PEC University of Technology and Chandigarh College of Engineering and Technology (CCET) among others. The students are continuing with their strike outside the V-C’s office, while three of the students are sitting on hunger strike alleging that the process was not transparent and that irregularities were committed in the process.

The protesters alleged that some students who qualified in the general category were allotted reserved category seats thereby violating the admission rules.

Panjab University had come out with a detailed reply on the issues raised by the students on Thursday yet the students are not ready to buzz.
