NSUI begins hunger strike

National Students Union of India (NSUI) on Monday demanded that BSc first and second year students be given a chance to clear their arrears on the lines of post graduate and BSc final year students. Students said they would continue protesting till their demands were met.

National Students Union of India (NSUI) on Monday demanded that BSc first and second year students be given a chance to clear their arrears on the lines of post graduate and BSc final year students. Students said they would continue protesting till their demands were met. They gave a memorandum to the vice-chancellor (V-C) and started an indefinite hunger strike outside his office.

Meanwhile, Panjab University Students Union (PUSU) also gave a memorandum to the V-C demanding upgradation of civic amenities on the south campus.

They said there were no arrangements for a canteen on the south campus and the condition of washrooms in UIET was miserable.
