The father of Indu Sharma, a management student who was allegedly killed by her family on Friday night for marrying outside her caste and against the wishes of her parents, was arrested here on Sunday.

Jitender Singh, station house officer of the Model Town police station, said: "We have taken Ram Kumar into custody for interrogation. Other accused named in the FIR would be arrested during the course of investigation."
Meanwhile, the police have also recovered a note from the house of Indu's parents. The contents of the note are still unknown.
Singh said the note would be examined by the forensic science and handwriting experts to ascertain whether it was written by the deceased or somebody else.
Indu had died under mysterious circumstances and was cremated at Assandh road crematorium on Saturday morning.
In a police complaint, Indu's husband Ajay Rohil alleged that his wife was killed by her parents and others for marrying outside her cast.
He said Indu's body was not even sent for post-mortem examination.
Indu, who belongs to a Brahmin family, had secretly married Ajay from the Jat community at a Chandigarh court on October 10.
Two days later, she was taken back home by her parents on the pretext that the family had approved of their relationship and their marriage function would he held on November 24.
