Junior Davis Cupper Paramveer Singh Bajwa has added another feather to his cap. The Chandigarh player put up a spectacular performance to win the under-16 boys’ singles title of the Babolat 8th Ramesh Desai National tennis championship that concluded in Mumbai on Saturday.

The second seeded Bajwa defeated Maharashtra’s unseeded Rian Pandole 6-3, 6-1 in a lopsided final.

For Bajwa, who trains at Tennis Excellence Academy (TEA), Kharar, it is his second successive U-16 title from the event.

In the under-16 girls’ doubles final, the Chandigarh pair of Aarushi Kakkar and Nandini Sharma defeated the Delhi duo of Jennifer and Sabhayata 5-7, 7-6 (2), 10-6 in a tought contest to bring more cheers to the city. Aarushi and Nandini are also TEA trainees.
