Patil to flag off Chandigarh-Amritsar daily today

A regular train from Chandigarh to Amritsar will be inaugurated on Friday morning from the Chandigarh railway station. The train will stop at SAS Nagar, New Morinda, Ludhiana, Jalandhar city and Beas stations.

A regular train from Chandigarh to Amritsar will be inaugurated on Friday morning from the Chandigarh railway station.

The Chandigarh-Amritsar Express will comprise of 10 coaches, with AC chair car (1 coach), second sitting (8 coaches), and sleeper class (1 Coach). The train will depart from Chandigarh at 6.55am and stop at SAS Nagar railway station at 7.13 am; it will reach Amritsar by 11.25am. The base fare will be Rs 385.

The train will stop at SAS Nagar, New Morinda, Ludhiana, Jalandhar city and Beas stations. On its return journey from Amritsar, the train will depart everyday at 5.30pm and will reach Chandigarh by 9.55 pm, with the same stoppages.

The train will be flagged off at Chandigarh on its inaugural run at 7.50 am by Punjab governor Shivraj V Patil, and former railway minister Pawan Kumar Bansal will preside over the inaugural function.

At SAS Nagar, the train will be received by Ravneet Singh, member of parliament, at 8.02 am on its maiden run.
