Interacting with children, Patil emphasised the need of empowering visually-impaired children by imparting them education and vocational training to enable them to live a life with pride and dignity.

Discussing various issues with Major General Rajinder Nath (retired), senior vice-president of the society, Patil stressed upon giving homely upbringing, proper guidance to these children so that they could become self-reliant citizens.

Patil assured the management of the institute that the UT administration was committed to provide all possible help to meet their genuine demands.

Appreciating the role of staff and management, Patil said the wheel of society was running on good deeds, positive thinking, determination and commitment.
