Keeping in view the dense fog and cold weather in the state, the Punjab education department extended the winter vacations for the students and staff in all primary schools till Jan 13.

Disclosing this here on Sunday, Punjab education minister Sikandar Singh Maluka said that school timings for Class 6 and above will be from 10 am onwards upto January 13, 2013 and for double shifts, the morning session would start at 8.00 am and in the evening the timings would be 12.30 to 4.15pm.

By taking a note of the news published in some papers the minister has further clarified that the vacation were declared in all primary schools for the students as well as for the staff ( teaching and non-teaching) and there is no confusion and controversy in this regard in the department.
