The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the Centre on a PIL seeking directions to issue the honorific of "martyr" or "shaheed" to paramilitary or police personnel who sacrifice their lives in the line of duty.

Jurists and ministries are in the process of issuing a reply within the next two weeks.
