A seven-year-old boy was crushed to death by a speeding vehicle in Rajouri district triggering protests by local residents who demanded strict punishment of those responsible for the accident.
Masharat Khan was crossing a road in the morning when a speeding truck hit him, police said.
However, those present in the truck managed to escape before locals or police could stop them.
The child was rushed to the nearby hospital, where the doctors declared him brought dead, police said.
The incident triggered protests, as local villagers blocked the road.
