PU asst prof awarded at Pharma meet in Singapore

Dr Neelima Dhingra, an assistant professor at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University, was felicitated with the International Best Paper Award at the second International Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences Conference at Singapore recently.

Dr Neelima Dhingra, an assistant professor at University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Panjab University, was felicitated with the International Best Paper Award at the second International Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences Conference at Singapore recently.

Dr Dhingra, who teaches pharmaceutical chemistry at UIPS, delivered a scientific lecture entitled, 'Cytotoxicity Studies of 17a-aza D-Homo steroids towards liver and neuroblastoma cancer cell lines'.

Dr Dhingra is working in the area of cancer research as a synthetic medicinal chemist and has identified several steroidal molecules as potential chemotherarpeutic agents that have strong clinical potential to treat several types of cancers. Science and Engineering Research Board, New Delhi, has sanctioned her research grant of `19 lakh under young scientist category.
