Punjab Government on Tuesday directed all the departments to refrain from deputing an employee on the same post, after being nabbed in connection with graft case by vigilance bureau.

"This step has been taken to ensure transparent and corruption free administration," an official spokesman said.
Departments have also been instructed not to depute such employees on a public dealing post till they are facing trial in graft cases against them, he added.
The orders were passed after it came to government's notice that some departments depute the under trial employee on the same post after he had been nabbed by the vigilance bureau in graft case.

He said that in such a case the undertrial employee could temper with the official documents and exercise his influence over the complainant and official witnesses pertaining the graft case against him.
