Punjab, Haryana witness pleasant weather, max temp below normal

Maximum temperature continued to remain below normal level in Punjab and Haryana, though humid conditions prevailed in the region.

Chandigarh recorded a maximum of 32.5 degrees Celsius, down by two notches below normal with a humidity level of 81%, said the Met office.

Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded high of 34.2 degrees and 34
Degrees, respectively, while Patiala had a maximum of 33.4 degrees.

In Haryana, Hisar recorded sharp drop in mercury as it settled at 33 degrees, down 5 notches below normal. Narnaul had a high of 33.2 degrees, dipping by 4 degrees.

Ambala, Karnal and Rohtak had maximum of 33 degrees, 33
degrees and 34 degrees, respectively.

Met office forecast said light to moderate rain may lash a few places in Punjab and Haryana in the next 48 hours.
