PUSU fined Rs 4,000 for pasting stickers

Panjab University (PU) slapped a fine of Rs 4,000 on the Panjab University Student Union (PUSU) for violations, on Wednesday. PU had received complaints from the department of biotechnology that the student workers of PUSU had pasted stickers on instruments at a department's lab.

PU had received complaints from the department of biotechnology that the student workers of PUSU had pasted stickers on instruments at a department's lab.

The department had forwarded the complaint on Tuesday. Following which PUSU was issued a show-cause notice. The PU fined PUSU after an internal report.

Meanwhile, eight outsiders were caught living in an unauthorised manner on the campus by the police and PU authorities in early morning raids conducted in different hostels. The officials said the hostellers with whom they were living had been fined.

The police took these outsiders to police station and they were freed after verification.
