Rain brings waterlogging, traffic jams in Panchkula

Heavy rains in eastern parts of Panchkula threw normal life out of gear on Tuesday. The water got stranded at different parts of the city as it rained heavily for over an hour from 1pm to 2pm. The motorists had a tough time battling waterlogging and traffic jams.

The waterlogging exposed all tall claims of the Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) of making elaborate arrangements ahead of the monsoon.

Every year, the clogged road gullies and drains cause inconvenience to locals during the monsoon and there are many places in the city where manholes haven't been covered.
