With the city continuing to receive rains, the maximum temperature saw a downfall on Monday.
According to Chandigarh meteorological centre, in the past 24 hours till Monday evening, the city received 3.4mm rains. The maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 23 degree Celsius, which is four notches down as compare to the normal temperature. However, the minimum temperature was recorded at 17 degree Celsius, which is five notches up.
Earlier on Sunday, the winds had blown at the speed of 19km per hour. In its forecasting bulletin, the Met centre said on Tuesday the weather would be clear.
However, the Met centre has predicted the sky would be clear in the coming days, and the maximum temperature would rise up to 27 degree Celsius.
"Light to moderate rains and thundershowers will occur at many places in Haryana and Punjab during the next 48 hours,"the Met centre stated.
It has also issued a warning that hail storms or thunder squalls with the wind speed exceeding 45km per hour may also occur at isolated places during next 48 hrs.
