Robbers decamp with ATM containing Rs 7 lakh in Hisar

In an audacious theft, robbers uprooted an automated teller machine (ATM) of Central Bank of India from Model Town market, near Jindal Chowk, and carried it away in a vehicle on Tuesday night. Abdul, a bank executive, said the ATM had nearly Rs 7 lakh cash. No guard was deployed at the ATM, while the CCTV camera was also out of order.

Abdul, a bank executive, said the ATM had nearly Rs 7 lakh cash. No guard was deployed at the ATM, while the CCTV camera was also out of order.

A forensic team took finger prints from the spot on Wednesday. The ATM booth is situated near the busy national highway where the market remains open till midnight and some shops are open even at 3 am.

ASI Vikram Singh, who is investigating of ficerin the case, said a case has been registered and the hunt for culprits is on.
