SAS Nagar gets new NRI police station

The state home department has created three new police stations for non-resident Indians (NRIs), initiating the process to reorganise jurisdiction of police stations according to assembly constituencies.

Home affairs and justice principal secretary DS Bains has issued notification for NRI police stations at Jalandhar (rural), Gurdaspur and SAS Nagar.

The communication said the government has also issued notifications to transfer 20 villages under Ghuman Kalan (Shri Hargobindpur constituency) police station to Sekhwan (Batala constituency) police station in Gurdaspur district.
