Six held for gambling
Police arrested six persons on charges of gambling and recovered a total cash of Rs 6,000 from their possession in separate incidents here on Sunday.
Police arrested six persons on charges of gambling and recovered a total cash of Rs 6,000 from their possession in separate incidents here on Sunday.
Police apprehended Sunil Kumar, Sanjay, Raj Kumar and Raj, all residents of Ram Darbar, from near a park at Phase 2 there, while they were gambling. Rs 4,000 were recovered from their possession.
A case under section 13-3-67 of the Gambling Act has been registered at the Sector 31 police station. The accused were later released on bail.
In a separate incident, police arrested Pardeep and Dharam Singh, both residents of Manimajra, from near Shivali Park, Manimajra, while gambling and recovered Rs 2,000 from their possession. A case was registered against both at the Manimajra police station. They were later released on bail.
