'Suicide' at PU: Student's mobile phone recovered

Police have recovered the mobile phone of Amandeep Singh, a final-year student of University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), who was charred to death on Thursday.

Police have recovered the mobile phone of Amandeep Singh, a final-year student of University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), who was charred to death on Thursday.


The police said the mobile was recovered from the deceased's room which was sealed after the incident. The police said they were going through the call records and would extract data from the phone.

Meanwhile, Amandeep's relatives were suspecting foul play in the entire episode. Following the allegations the administration had marked inquest proceedings in the matter and the report of the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) report was awaited.
