The department found preliminary symptom of polio in four-year old Bhavishay. The child was complaining of pain in legs and was moved to referral hospital Dadahu than he was referred to district hospital. Though it was not confirmed the child was affected with polio virus, as a precautionary measure the department had initiated necessary steps.

A similar case was detected in the area in 2013 but later it was found negative.

Block medical officer Dr Nissar Ahammed said at this stage it could not be ascertained that the child was infecting with polio or not. The report of the blood samples of the child could only be confirmed whether it was a case of polio or not.
