Two docs held for violating termination of pregnancy act

Two doctors were arrested for violation of Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act after health department and food and drugs administration (FDA) conducted a raid at the Nirmal Hospital in Yamunanagar district, an official release of the National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) said on Friday.

Stating that an FIR had been lodged against Dr Nirmal Singh and Dr Anu of the hospital located at Radaur road in the district, the release said that the raid was conducted in the hospital which was not MTP approved.

During the raid, four MTP disposable instruments were found, out of which two were used.

Dr Nirmal and Dr Anu both ran away from the spot, but were later apprehended by the police, the release added.
