Association spokesperson Anshu Kataria said Class 12 results were delayed in many states and if students were not allowed admission to the second semester it could have affected their studies. "With this ruling, students will be able to save a year of their education," he said.

It is to be mentioned that PTU had allowed admissions to the second semester of BTech courses for the 2012-13 academic year. Under this admission policy, hundreds of students were enrolled in more than 50 colleges.

This policy was challenged in the high court and the petitioner had said that PTU had admitted the students in violation of rules and regulations.
