Union govt launched welfare schemes: Minister

Underlining the need for bridging up the gap between rich and poor by initiating welfare schemes, member of Shimla parliamentary constituency Virender Kashyap on Monday said the union government had launched several welfare schemes, which would help in transforming the economy of the farming community of the country.

Underlining the need for bridging up the gap between rich and poor by initiating welfare schemes, member of Shimla parliamentary constituency Virender Kashyap on Monday said the union government had launched several welfare schemes, which would help in transforming the economy of the farming community of the country.

Inaugurating a three-day Jan Suchana Abhiyan (public information campaign), organised by the Press Information Bureau, Shimla, with the help of other media units of the ministry of information and broadcasting, Central government, at Dharampur, Kashyap said in order to stop immoral practice of exploitation the poor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already launched “Prdhan Mantri Jan-Dhan Yojna”.

He emphasised that an account, under this scheme, could be opened with ‘zero balance’. However the scheme got a tremendous response from the public with `1,500 crore deposited with a record opening 4 crore new accounts in the country.

On the clarion-call given by Modi to the people for voluntarily contributing to clean railway stations, Kashyap said all Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs and MLAs would participate in the nationwide 'Nirmal Bharat Abhiyan' on October 2 as they would also clean railway station at Solan. The PM would also participate in the programme at New Delhi railway stations, he added.

Lauding the efforts for organising the event, Kasauli MLA, Rajiv Sehjal said a three day 'Jan Suchana Abhiyan' would help the government to effectively and smoothly run the welfare schemes, started for the benefit of the people.

Meanwhile, District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) deputy director-cum-project officer SG Negi urged the people to take benefit of Aadhar Card.
