Urban development min commits to fill vacant posts in SMC

Urban development and town and country planning minister Sudhir Sharma said the state government would give priority to fill up vacant posts in the Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC).

Urban development and town and country planning minister Sudhir Sharma said the state government would give priority to fill up vacant posts in the Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC).

Presiding over a meeting of joint employees Sangharsh Committee of the civic body, he said the government was committed to provide all possible assistance to the MC and grievances of the employees of the corporation would be solved on priority.
He added that the state government had always cordial relations with the employees and was committed for the welfare of the employees.

“Priority will be given to fill vacant posts in the corporation, which will be filled on contract basis and preference would be given to compassionate cases,” he said, adding that the demands of the employees to resolve the pension anomalies and providing benefit of 4-9-14 would also be considered.

Earlier, committee president Om Prakash Thakur apprised the minister about various demands of the employees.
