"This community policing has converged e-governance with engaged governance," stated Heyman, head of the US delegation at the valedictory address of the conference.

The police forces of Punjab and Kerala were invited to present their models of community policing at the meet, where Punjab ADGP SK Sharma in his presentation highlighted the Saanjh programme that provides a dignified forum to citizens to have an access to police services, for resolution of domestic violence and dowry dispute and build citizen and police partnership.

This programme has converged community policing with regular policing, institutionalised ad-hoc community policing and made these Saanjh centres self-sustaining, Sharma said.
