UT police register three complaints of dowry harassment

Three city women lodged complaints of dowry harassment with the Chandigarh Police.
In the first incident, a woman alleged that her husband Ishan Kataria, a resident of Sector 10, along with her in-laws, harassed her for bringing dowry.
In a separate incident, a woman alleged that her husband Rajiv Verma, along with father-in-law S K Verma, brother-in-law Robin and the mother-in-law, all residents of Sector 70, SAS Nagar, harassed her to bring more dowry.
Another woman resident accused her husband Manoj Negi, father-in-law Dalbir Singh and her mother-in-law, who hailed from Uttarakhand, were hard-pressing her to bring in more dowry.
The police registered separate cases of dowry harassment under Sections 406 and 498-A of the IPC.
