Windstorm causes Rs 4.6-cr loss to PDD; damages 16,000 structures

The government has directed all deputy commissioners in the valley to constitute joint multi-disciplinary assessment teams to verify the quantum of damage caused due to the windstorm in their respective areas.

The official reports so far said 95 residential houses got fully damaged; 11,641 houses partially damaged; 4,074 non-residential houses partially damaged; and 25 government buildings, 16 school buildings and one hospital building partially damaged. It said 10 houseboats were also severely damaged.
