Woman booked for threatening husband

A woman doctor, living separately from her husband, has been booked for harassing him. The doctor, hailing from Himachal Pradesh, practices at a private hospital in SAS Nagar. The husband, Amit Maheshwari, had alleged that the accused Dr Bhavna Pahwa had been sending her obscene messages, sources in the police said.

The couple had married in 2006 and had started living separately after some years. In his complaint , Maheshwari told the police that Pahwa had been sending her obscene messages from an unknown number. On calling at the number, he was threatened. The cyber cell found that the number was registered on fake documents, on the name of a Zirakpur resident. The woman has been booked under Sections 66, 66A, 66D of the IT Act, and Section 420 (fraud) of the IPC. The accused Bhavna has denied all allegations. “My husband is defaming me,” she said.
