The 16-year-old victim had a close shave with death when he was shot at by two people who were on a motorbike in Pavananagar, Sangvi, on Friday evening.

According to the police, the victim, who is a resident of old Sangvi had come to visit his friends. He was watching a video with his friends when the assailants approached him. The attack took place due to previous issues between the youths. The victim ducked on hearing the sound of the bullet, and was therefore saved, added the police.

Dnyaneshwar Sabale, police inspector, said, “The pillion rider aimed at the victim and fired the round that missed. The victim was in company of Wasim Khan, a man who has criminal cases lodged against him. The juveniles who opened fire at him also have cases registered against them. The accused were apparently angry with the victim for standing with Wasim Khan and therefore, opened fire.”
