The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a warning of cold wave in some parts of North Karnataka, forecasting dense fog and cold temperatures for several days to come.

“Cold wave conditions very likely in isolated pockets over Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Interior Karnataka during next 24 hours,” the department said in a bulletin on Tuesday.

Cold wave warnings were issued in the following districts of Karnataka: Bijapura, Bagalkot, Bellary and Mandya. The Met Department further gave a cold wave warning in north interior Karnataka on Wednesday as well.
Meanwhile Bengaluru city is set to have clear or partly cloudy skies with fog and/or mist very likely during early morning hours in some areas. Minimum temperatures could go as low as 14 degrees Celsius while maximum temperatures could go as high as 28 degrees Celsius in the city, the IMD added.
Dry conditions are set to prevail in most districts of Karnataka, including Bengaluru. "In Bidar, we recorded 5.5 degrees Celsius followed by 6 degrees Celsius in Bagalkot and Vijayapura. The minimum temperature is more than 5 degrees lower than the normal temperature for these districts. Hence, we have issued a cold wave warning across north-interior Karnataka districts," IMD Bengaluru scientist Prasad A told Times Now.
