Karnataka Bandh Updates: Two days after the Bengaluru Bandh, the entire state is observing a strike today, called by pro-Kannada organizations. Protests are being held across the state against the release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu amid a drought-like situation in several districts. Karnataka police have deployed extra force across the state to tackle protestors and avoid any law and order issues.

1. Section 144 has been imposed in Mandya, Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, Ramanagara and Hassan. Read more here
2. Protests have been held near Town Hall and Freedom Park areas in Bengaluru.
3. Transport and travel has been hit in several districts, with KSRTC buses operating in single digits against hundreds, and as many as 44 flights having been cancelled to and from the Bengaluru international airport.
4. Protests were also held on the Tamil Nadu side, with officials saying they will appeal the Supreme Court to direct Karnataka to release 5,000 cusecs of water.
5. All schools, colleges and other educational institutions have been given a holiday today in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chamarajanagara, Ramanagara, Mandya and Hassan in view of the bandh.
