The incident took place on Friday evening when three to four armed men tried to barge inside the pub, but were stopped by the reception staff.

The footage, now procured by the police for investigation, shows a masked and an unmasked man firing shots outside the reception counter. They are also seen kicking and threatening the customers who ran out the mall.

“The customers ran away helplessly as the men loaded their weapons and fired shots at will. There were at least four persons who walked around easily, firing almost seven to eight rounds,” said Yogesh Kumar, the owner of the pub, who did not want his establishment to be named.

“We earlier operated a discotheque at a nearby mall where a similar incident took place in May 2015. That was for extorting money, but different men were involved,” he said.

“We don’t know the motive behind Friday’s incident but it has affected my business severely. The police have not allowed my pub to open for the past two days. Even the customers got scared and may go away. It is not easy to do business here,” he added.

Police said that they have registered a case for attempt to murder against several persons and have identified the accused through the CCTV footage.

“The men opened fire but no customer was injured by bullets. One person was injured when he hit a table while running. Three of the men have been identified on the basis of the footage and will be arrested soon,” said Salman Taj, superintendent of police at Ghaziabad.

Officials from Indirapuram police station said that there were reports that the armed men had been arrested in Delhi.

“But the arrest was not confirmed. Our teams are searching for the accused who will be arrested soon,” said Atul Yadav, circle officer, Indirapuram.
